Gogo Olivia Chisundiza hails from Mnthumba Village, STA Sawali in Balaka District.  Born in the Year 1942, the 68 year old grandmother is struggling to fetch the basic necessities not only for herself, but also for her four orphaned grandchildren whose parents died of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
Olivia is a widow.  She lost her husband many years ago.  Though not employed, she works very hard and makes sure the family doesn’t starve.
Precious Chikopa is one of the orphans living with gogo Olivia.  Being the oldest, he makes sure that he works hand in hand with his grandmother in handling household chores as his grandmother is out for farming. During weekends, Precious goes into the bush to hunt for birds so that they can at least find something to eat.  If they do not do this, they only eat once.  Precious has one special thing, he is very intelligent.  And even in school, he is one of the best outstanding students in his class.  He works so hard and is always on position one.  He never misses his homework and makes sure everything supposed to be done is done in its right time.  Olivia witnessed this by showing us his school reports.
Being a poor widow grandmother, who earns a living from small farming, cannot afford to send him to after primary education because she already has difficulties in taking care of him now.  Olivia doesn’t know how to help her only hope, PRECIOUS.  Gogo Msamalira Ana incorporated Gogo Olivia Chisundiza and Precious into the project.
